The “GESIA Annual Awards for Excellence” was conducted on 29th September, 2016 at YMCA International Centre. GESIA (Gujarat Electronics and Software Industries Association) is the apex body of the IT / ITeS industry in Gujarat. The theme for this year was “IT’s all about Business”. The award function put a spotlight on the best of Gujarat’s ICT Industry and recognized the true DNA of a Gujarati i.e. Excellence, Innovation, and Leadership. In the ninth edition, the GESIA Annual Awards donned a new look this year.

Founded in 1995 with a group of Eight CEOs of Gandhinagar GIDC Electronics Estate, as an Action Group Electronics (AGE). This group started actively interacting with various departments of Government of Gujarat with the result the Government started recognizing them as the spokesperson for the industry and as a consultant on all policy matters regarding growth, sustenance and well-being of the industry. On 14th December, ’96 AGE further nurtured as GEIA (Gujarat Electronics Industries Association) and after one year in 1997 GEIA was rechristened as GESIA (Gujarat Electronics & Software Industries Association) to widen the scope to include software industries. In 2016, GESIA transformed itself in to ‘GESIA IT Association’
